Carlos Hernandez is an assurance partner and health care industry leader for RSM US LLP. He also serves as Miami office leader and is a member of the firm’s board of directors.
Carlos has more than 24 years of public accounting and financial management experience focused in the health care industry. He provides audit, consulting, accounting, and review services for a variety of health care clients. His experience includes over 16 years providing assurance and consulting services to government-run hospitals, nonprofit hospitals, multihospital health care systems, physician practices, hospice and palliative care organizations, home health agencies, federally qualified health centers, private equity-funded health care organizations, long-term care facilities, dental offices, retirement communities, behavioral health facilities, and related foundations.
Before joining RSM, Carlos served as the assistant vice president of finance and member of the executive team of a major medical center, responsible for the strategic and operational direction of the facility and for accounting, payroll, admitting, insurance verification, central scheduling, cashiering, and revenue cycle-related projects. He facilitated national trainings, led eight teams on a hospital-wide revenue cycle initiative that resulted in significant net revenue improvement, and led two hospital-wide computer conversions.
Carlos enjoys spending time away from work with his wife, son, and daughter. The family enjoys travel, cruises, and attending all Miami-related sporting events.
