Born and bred in the “medicine cabinet of the world,” New Jersey, John has spent 30-plus years providing business consulting services to companies in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and life sciences services sector. He advises on industry issues such as research and development tax credits, mergers and acquisitions assistance, revenue recognition related to collaboration agreements, intellectual property planning as well as business issues facing life sciences companies today.
Throughout his public accounting career John has had a passion for the life sciences industry due to the groundbreaking work of his clients in developing therapies, diagnostics, and other products and services that are making a positive impact on public health. John and his team provide consulting services on regulatory requirements and specialized tax strategies to give life sciences firms the time and space to do what they do best—develop their products.
With a vested interest in each matrix at RSM—geography, industry and line of business—John is well-connected both inside and outside the firm. He is known as the “go-to guy” when it comes to business consulting services in the life sciences industry. He is a tax partner by trade and approaches each engagement first by gaining an understanding of his client’s business before considering any solutions. Prior to joining RSM, John served for 12 years as a tax services coordinator for a Big Four firm, where he also oversaw New Jersey tax operations for the firm.
John appreciates the culture of collaboration that exists at RSM where teams are working together to serve as first-choice advisors. He is involved in many of RSM’s employee network groups, including STAR, Family First and VALOR. Known as a bit of a renaissance man, John has many interests outside of RSM that include participating in Ironman triathlons, baking and fly fishing.
